Hosted by the Purifying Lifestyle Health Association, a 3-day intensive chef training program recently concluded at Volando Urai Resort. The program aimed to promote the philosophy of “Purifying Cuisine” (淨饍食養) by combining gourmet plant-based cooking with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wisdom.
Mr. Ken Kwong (鄺梓罡), a renowned plant-based chef from Hong Kong and Executive Chef of FUSEN·Purifying Wellness Academy led the program, guiding the chef team through refined plant-based techniques and the nutritional principles of the Five Elements in TCM.
In addition, Dr. Josh Hung (洪友仕), a registered TCM practitioner in Australia and founder of Fusen.Purifying Wellness Academy personally shared clinical experiences and in-depth knowledge on the therapeutic philosophy of “medicine and food from the same origin.”
In addition to professional training, the workshop also invited gourmet enthusiasts and distinguished guests from various fields to participate in the tasting session, offering valuable feedback and encouragement.
At the conclusion of the program, Ms. Ling-Ling Wu, Chairperson of Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort, and Mr. Chih-Jen Hsu, Deputy General Manager of the Urai branch, presented certificates of completion on behalf of the Association to the participating chefs — Executive Chef Chia-Cheng Chang, Sous Chef Shih-Liang Chang, and Sous Chef Chih-Ying Lo — symbolizing the fulfillment and growth achieved throughout this culinary journey.
This chef training program not only nurtures professional excellence but also lays the foundation for the upcoming wellness retreat programs, offering guests a truly integrated experience of beauty, nourishment, and science-based healing.
